furry rave music!!! ravefurrest!!!

Posted by greystarmusic - 1 day ago

Hi folks!

Over the last 6 months or so I've been working on a track for a big compilation organized by Ravefurrest, a Nashville-based crew that has been touring all over the US throwing big furry raves! I had the honor of hosting them twice here in Portland, OR. Some of my favorite shows I've been able to take part in... Hoping to do another show with them soon here, and maybe book some other folks that some of you may be familiar with (Metaroom is one headliner I have in mind :D)

Anyways, after 6 months, the compilation is out! 35 tracks, with a huuuge lineup of artists, it's pretty intimidating but a great variety of dance music. Take a listen here if you'd like:

So, for this compilation I contributed one of the closing tracks, titled "Amen's Marimba". This is probably the happiest song I've ever made, or at least up there -- very active and playful, making reference to Wii Sports Resort, old soundfonts, and gabber, among other things. It is up now here on Newgrounds:

Around the same time as this compilation, I released 2 other tracks this July on other compilations: "Ina Grm / Dither [Live]" and "CORE (Live In The Depths Edit)". I decided to put these out on a short compilation / EP...

The cover art was made with an old scribing tool, micron pens, and a button press to create the lil button-album covers.

I'll share one more cool thing I made recently, since I'm embedding images anyway...

Not for sale online, maybe they will someday, just sharing them here as I thought they turned out pretty cute. Feral Kickz is a crew of me & some friends here in Portland, throwing events / furry meetups. I recently learned of a local free space that allows me access to a heat press and a cricut cutter, allowing me to make iron-on vinyl shirts. Turned out pretty good! I highly recommend more folks try this. Look into free art / craft spaces near you, specially in community colleges!

Alright, that's all! Have a good day everyone. Keep making cool things!
